Results have been posted for the State meet held August 6 & 7, 2011.
New records set at States in both 100 medley and 100 free 10 & Under girls' relays! Take a bow, Samantha Wisdom, Erica Dow, Lilianna Ziedins, and Cheryl Parks!
Updated top times!
Three new Rapids team records were set recently:
- Erik Ziedins swam 9:12.78 in the boys' 12&U 500 free 7/21 to beat Stephen Wilson's old record of 9:16.50, set 7/27/2001;/li>
- at the District meet on 7/30, Lilianna Ziedins swam 15.09 in the girls' 9-10 25 free to take Jamie Bonnell's 1996 record of 15.12, and
- Erica Dow swam 16.37 in the girls' 9-10 25 fly to take Kirsten Osborne's old record of 16.53, set 7/17/2001.
The Waterbury Rapids compete in the Green Mountain Swim League of the Vermont Swim Association. We swim at the Town of Waterbury Pool in Waterbury, Vermont.
We are a parent-run team with an emphasis on fun and individual improvement in the water. Swimmers, who range from age 5 to 19, have to be able to swim a length of the pool. Find out more!
Our 2011 season begins on Monday, June 20, and culminates for all swimmers in our District meet on Saturday, July 30. Waterbury Rapids successfully defended our Green Mountain Swim League championship for 2011!
We had 28 Rapids swimmers qualify for or compete at the State meet August 6 & 7. Congratulations to all!
